Above is a video from the Day Camp that we host in the same location as Overnight Camp.
For the first time since 2019 we will be hosting an Overnight Camp again. We miss hosting these and we are excited to be able to offer this camp again. Many of our current staff began with us as campers at our overnight camps and their fondest memories are from these camps.
Campfires, S'mores, Capture the flag, Teams led by our interns, Team competitions and challenges, Canoes, Archery, Gaga Ball, Bazooka Ball, Water wars, Water Slides, Swimming in the Lake. Morning Devotions and Night Rallies. These camps have always been so much fun and created some of the best memories and experiences. There is nothing like overnight camp.
This is definitely an adventure camp. Our cabins do not have air conditioning. They are open air and we have fans. You might be wondering if it is safe. Back when we hosted camps out there one of the weeks we had a 75-year-old woman who came as a volunteer. She spent a whole week with us as a volunteer. She told me, "Don't change a thing about this camp, this is how I remember camp and this is how it should be." This is a week where your child will have the opportunity to grow.
We focus on keeping the kids hydrated and healthy throughout the camp. Staying in a completely outdoor environment actually helps our bodies acclimate better than if we go in and out of air conditioning.
This camp is open to everyone but it will best fit kids who have already attended one of our Day Camps.
We have been hosting camps for more than 20 years and have hosted several overnight camps at Brand Christian Youth Camp. Since we started hosting camps at that location we have made many improvements. When we hosted our first overnight camp at this location we had no electricity, no covered pavilion, and we have added multiple shade structures and shade sails since then.
All of our staff and volunteers have gone through background checks (if old enough for a record), screening, and child protection training. We are state-licensed and comply with their requirements.
This camp has very limited space and we will have a great adult-to-child ratio to ensure safety.
The great thing about overnight camp is the night activities. We will have campfires, S'mores, Capture the Flag, and other fun camp traditions.
Parents will drop off at Brand Christian Youth Camp inside Bentsen State Park in Mission, Texas. We will have specific instructions in your confirmation email.
Our awards presentation and goodbyes is Scheduled to begin at 10:30AM with campers leaving by 11:30AM.
In your confirmation email, there will be more details and we will also send another email out when we get closer to the start of camp.
Staff and Volunteers: We have more than 20 years of experience hosting camps. 16 years as Children's Pastors and 9 as Camp Directors. All of our staff and volunteers go through a thorough screening and training process.
“2nd year my kids attend camp and they love it! Each year they look forward to seeing their friends and the staff there! These are memories my kids will never forget!”
“No DOUBT..the BEST CAMP OUT THERE!! thank u for this amazing, most memorable, God-filled week that my daughter got to experience for the first time!! We can't wait for next camp season!!”
